👤 Who are you?

Hi, I’m Uzu. I write music for the feelings that ordinary words miss; memories, regret, love, and the small moments of daily life. Spanning everything from Korean indie and rock to electronic and experimental sounds, my only goal is to create something honest that you can feel in your bones.

🌍 Why are you representing this country?

South Korea represents my roots and a part of my identity that I feel deeply connected to through music. Creating songs in Korean is a way for me to reconnect with that heritage, explore its emotions and culture, and express something personal that goes beyond words. Korean music inspires me because of its ability to carry tenderness, longing, strength, and intensity all at once, those feelings are at the heart of what I create as uzu.

🎶 What message would you like to share with your song?

“나를 두고 가” (Leave Me Behind) was written after I lost a precious friend following a painful fight. We had unintentionally touched each other’s deepest wounds, and in the end, that friend abruptly ended the conversation and disappeared from my life. I was left with the shock of the absence, the silence of everything unsaid, and a grief that stayed with me for a long time.

The song lyrics/melody is also expressing the Korean feeling of han — a quiet, unresolved sorrow that is not simply expressed through anger or tears, but carried deep inside. Rather than trying to blame or hold on, the song turns that pain into resignation: the world continues to bloom, the seasons move on, and all I can finally say is, “Leave me behind.”
